UNC Summer Placements

20 Tar Heels will be playing summer ball in 2022

Less than a week removed from their season-ending loss to Arkansas, members of the North Carolina baseball team are turning their attention to the offseason.

On Thursday, UNC announced that 19 players will be playing in five summer leagues across the country. Additionally, Vance Honeycutt will be participating in the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp, which includes the five-game Stars vs. Stripes intrasquad series in North Carolina from June 30–July 4.

Below is a list of each player’s placement for the summer as well as a link to their respective team’s website.

Cape Cod League

Other notes

• Max Carlson (Chatham Anglers) and Brandon Schaeffer (Bourne Braves) were initially slated to play in the Cape Cod League, but both have been shut down for the summer after throwing 77 2/3 and 96 innings, respectively, this spring.

• UNC commit Ben Peterson (Florida Southwestern State) is also on the Chatham Anglers’ roster with Bovair and Castagnozzi.
